Dorothy Gerber Youth Orchestra: For students who have graduated from an Intermediate class or have reached at least the second book of the Suzuki repertoire, the DGYO offers an opportunity to play more advanced ensemble music.
Suzuki Strings: This method specializes in teaching very young children to play an instrument, beginning as early as three years old. Students begin in a private lesson context with the active involvement of a parent, then also have opportunities to learn in groups as they develop.
Private lessons: Traditional lessons in violin, viola, cello or bass are offered with the excellent instructors of the Gerber Strings Program at Christ Episcopal Church and the Gerber Strings Office in Petoskey. Students may sign up for 30, 45 or 60 minute lessons, as is appropriate for their age and skill level and are scheduled on a first come, first served basis. Lessons begin on September 4.
The Dorothy Gerber Strings Program would be honored to teach music classes to your student. We offer a wide range of music classes in Charlevoix and surrounding area. We have options for every age (age three to eighteen) and any level (from absolute beginners to advanced players). With multiple locations spread across the region, it's easy to become part of our ever-growing musical network.
